Castlewellan Forest Park online booking
IMPORTANT NOTICE - Exciting redevelopment works are taking place at the Park across 2024. Works include pitch layout changes within the Caravan Park. Please familiarise yourself with the updated site map and pitch numbers/characteristics below before booking. Upon re-opening of the booking system a reduced number of hard-standing pitches will initially be available. Newly developed pitches (M27 to M37) will be released for bookings upon completion. Notice of these additional pitch openings will be issued via Visit Mourne and NMDDC social media pages at least 1 week in advance. Unfortunately the Dovecote yard pitches will not be available throughout the 2024 season.
Castlewellan Forest Park is located in a stunning location of mountain and sea. The Park boasts one of Northern Ireland's most famous lakes, a stunning Victorian Castle, incredible panoramic views, scenic walking trails, 27km of Mountain Bike Trails, Mountain Bike pump track, play park, an onsite multi-activity Centre and one of the world’s largest hedge mazes.
What we have to offer
We provide the following:
Main Caravan site - numbered M01 to M37 on site map (£30.80 per night)
37 hard standing pitches with electric hook-ups. 6 of these pitches can accommodate tents and 20 are suitable for awnings. When making a booking, the online system will allow customers to select from a drop-down menu of available pitches.
- Pitches suitable for tents: M1, M2, M4, M6, M10 and M12.
- Pitches not suitable for awnings: M7, M8, M15, M20, M22, M25, M27, M28, M29, M30, M31, M32, M33, M34, M35, M36 and M37.
Dovecote Yard
The Dovecote Yard is unavailable due to upcoming works.
Grassed tent pitches (£24.50 per night)
40 tent pitches (electric hook-up not available). On arrival, customers will select their own tent pitch space from within the designated tent areas (see site map). Customers must leave a minimum of 5 metres between each tent pitch. TENTS ONLY (200 sq ft maximum)- please note this area is NOT suitable for Trailer Tents, Caravans, Motorhomes, Campervans, RV’s or Folding Caravans.
Please note: there are no laundry facilities onsite.
All prices quoted are inclusive of VAT charged at 20%.

Please note: Full payment is required at the time of booking. Booking reference number is required for check-in.
Castlewellan Caravan Park is open throughout the following times in 2024:
March: Thursday 14th to Monday 18th / Friday 22nd & Saturday 23rd
March to September: Daily from Thursday 28th March until Monday 30th September
October: Weekends only between 1st - 24th October
October & November: Daily from 25th October to the 3rd November

Cancellations & Amendments
A minimum of seven days' written notice prior to the date of arrival (by letter or email - castlewellanpark@nmandd.org) is required to be given to Council to cancel bookings. If seven or more days’ notice is given, then a refund will be given less a £5 administration fee.
If more than 72 hours’ written notice (by letter or email) is given, the booking may be rearranged to another available date within the Season. Requests to rearrange a booking within 72 hours of the Customer’s arrival date or failure to arrive are not permitted. Customers are advised to have insurance cover in the event of cancellation..
Other Information
Check in: strictly from 2pm. Check out: strictly before 1 pm.
We would ask all visitors to use the main public car park.
We would ask all residents to adhere to the 'quiet after 11pm’ rule.
It is now mandatory to recycle all your waste appropriately in the designated bins.
