Castlewellan Forest Park online booking

Castlewellan Forest Park is located in a stunning location of mountain and sea. The Park boasts one of Northern Ireland's most famous lakes, a stunning Victorian Castle, incredible panoramic views, scenic walking trails, 27km of Mountain Bike Trails, Mountain Bike pump track, play park, an onsite multi-activity Centre and one of the world’s largest hedge mazes.

What we have to offer

We provide the following:

Main Caravan site - numbered M01 to M37 on site map (£30.80 per night)
37 hard standing pitches with electric hook-ups. 4 of these pitches can accommodate tents and 27 are suitable for awnings. When making a booking, the online system will allow customers to select from a drop-down menu of available pitches:

- Pitches suitable for tents: M02, M04, M06, M10.
- Pitches not suitable for awnings: M01, M03, M07, M08, M11, M12, M15, M20, M22 and M25

Dovecote Yard
The Dovecote Yard is unavailable due to ongoing works.

Grassed tent pitches (£24.50 per night)
40 tent pitches (electric hook-up not available). On arrival, customers will select their own tent pitch space from within the designated tent areas (see site map). Customers must leave a minimum of 5 metres between each tent pitch. TENTS ONLY (200 sq ft maximum)- please note this area is NOT suitable for Trailer Tents, Roof-top Tents, Box Tents, Caravans, Motorhomes, Campervans, RV’s or Folding Caravans.

Please note: there are no laundry facilities onsite.

Drumbuck Wood (£18.00 per night)
19 pitches (electric hook-up not available in this area) When making a booking, the online system will allow customers to select from a drop-down menu of available pitches. Please note this area is NOT suitable for Ground-based Tents, Trailer Tents, Box Tents, Roof-top Tents or Folding Caravans.

All prices quoted are inclusive of VAT charged at 20%.

Advance bookings are essential. Bookings are available online only.
Please note: Full payment is required at the time of booking. Booking reference number is required for check-in.

Castlewellan Caravan Park is open throughout the following times in 2025:

Opening dates:-

March: Thursday 13th to Tuesday 18th / Friday 21st & Saturday 22nd / Friday 28th & Saturday 29th.

April to September: Friday 4th & Saturday 5th / Friday 11th & Saturday 12th April. Daily from Thursday 17th April until Monday 29th September.

October & November: Friday 3rd & Saturday 4th / Friday 10th & Saturday 11th / Friday 17th & Saturday 18th October.
Daily from Friday 25th October to Sunday 2nd November.

Caravan Park closes on Sunday 2nd November 2025.

Castlewellan Caravan Park may be affected by ongoing development works at the Park.

Cancellations & Amendments

A minimum of seven days' written notice prior to the date of arrival (by letter or email - castlewellanpark@nmandd.org) is required to be given to Council to cancel bookings. If seven or more days’ notice is given, then a refund will be given less a £5 administration fee. If more than 72 hours’ written notice (by letter or email) is given, the booking may be rearranged to another available date within the Season. Requests to rearrange a booking within 72 hours of the Customer’s arrival date or failure to arrive are not permitted. Customers are advised to have insurance cover in the event of cancellation..

Other Information

Check in: strictly from 2pm. Check out: strictly before 1 pm.
We would ask all visitors to use the main public car park.
We would ask all residents to adhere to the 'quiet after 11pm’ rule.
It is now mandatory to recycle all your waste appropriately in the designated bins.
